On Saturday, February 17th, 2007, the Deep River Players presented the first annual "Yellow Shoe Amateur Skit Night" at the Bear's Den in Deep River, Ontario raising over $500 for the local Food Bank (plus food donations).

Six teams of 3 to 6 willing people were provided with one or more props, a newspaper headline, and a movie quote. Then, they were given 48 hours to prepare and rehearse a skit.

The show was hosted by Scott Florence of the Ottawa-based A Company of Fools, and featured four celebrity judges: Brian McGee (VP, AECL), Anne Aiken (Mayor of Deep River), Patti Kinghorn (Principal, Mackenzie High School), and James Patrick (DJ, Star 96 Radio).
